Riona Degiorgio sang during the Muscial concert on `Jum Il-Haddiem`

On Friday 29th April a musical concert was held at the PJAZZA TEJATRU RJAL, in Valletta in connection with the `Jum Il-Haddiem` activities

The Concert included excerpts from the musical Joseph And The Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Phantom of The Opera, Les Miserables, Sound of Music, the most popular musical of Walt Disney Mary Poppins, Do not Cry for me Argentina (Evita), Memories from Cats and extract from the Maltese rock opera Ä ensna

The Labour Party Band, was under the direction of Mro David Agius and assisted by Mro Nicholas Vella, Riona Degiorgio, a student at the La Voix Academy was one of the main singers alongside Aldo Busuttil, Olivia Lewis, Myron Hose Agius, Rosabelle Pavia, Mark Tonna, the violinist Mario Ciantar and Paul Curmi Dance Company.

After the concert Riona said that it was a great experience being on stage with talented Maltese singers. When asked how she felt when she was on stage with a live band and in front of a big audience Riona said “ I was a a bit excited at first but as soon as I started singing and heard the audience clapping I had a great time.” She said that even backstage, that although she was the little one they made her feel at ease.

For Riona this was her third time singing with a live band but she reckons this is a unique experience, since the band was made up from 80 musicians
